Mr. Gluckman began
his martial arts training at Ed Parker’s West Los Angeles Kenpo Studio in 1973. He trained sporadically for five
years, then in 1978 begain training with a consistency and passion rarely seen. After attaining his Black Belt
in 1984, Mr. Gluckman begain competing in various tournaments throughout the city and state. From 1987 - 1990 Mr.
Gluckman was continually ranked as one of the top five competitors in the country in self-defense divisions. Mr.
Gluckman was also one of the most respected tournament officials on the tournament circuit, often being chosen
as a judge for the finals competition at Mr. Parker’s prestigious International Karate Championships over the years.
Mr. Gluckman was one of the primary instructors at Mr. Parker’s West Los Angeles dojo from 1984 - 1990 - then at
Bryan Hawkins Kenpo Karate from 1990 - 1999.
Mr. Gluckman was the
very essense of dedication and perseverance in the art of Kenpo.
He was loved by many,
respected by most, and missed by all!
