Fact Sheet

Where: Unless otherwise specified, camp activities will take place at Dr. Paul Carlson Park in Culver City, California.

Required Equipment:
  • Uniform, Groin Protector, & Mouthguard
  • Kenpo Sticks
  • Nunchaku (Black Belts Only)
  • Knives (Plastic or Rubber Only)
  • Workout shoes, hat (if desired), & sunscreen (Classes will be outdoors.)
  • Any other Kenpo gear you may feel necessary or helpful

Meals:
Your registration costs include on-site morning coffee and pastries, drinks and snacks (provided by the U.K.S.) throughout the two-day training camp and also include a buffet-style lunch on Saturday. This year, we are pleased to announce that one of our ranking Black Belts, Mr. Wes Idol, has once again arranged for our Saturday Night Awards Dinner to be held at his family’s restaurant, The Pacific Dining Car in Santa Monica. This will be a real treat! The Pacific Dining Car has been consistently rated the #1 Best Steakhouse on the entire West Coast. It is a four-star restaurant that everyone will enjoy and remember! The four-course dinner of your choice will be offered at a cost of $39.00 (tax and tip included). Your attendance is warmly welcomed, but remember, space is limited -- so get your reservations in early!

Lodging:
 The Radisson Hotel, 6161 West Centinela Avenue, Culver City, CA (310-649-1776), has given the UKS a rate of $89.00 (single or double) per night for our out-of-town guests and even those from the Los Angeles area. To receive this special rate, you must:

1. Reserve your room by calling 310-649-1776 by Friday, August 30th (after this date the rooms may be unavailable or at a higher rate), and
2. Mention the “United Kenpo Systems” when making your reservation.

Transportation:
Flight reservations into the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) should be made as far in advance as possible to get the best rates. Transportation from LAX to the Radisson Hotel in Culver City will be provided by the Radisson’s free shuttle transport (on the baggage claim level) from the airport to the hotel. For those traveling by automobile, directions can be obtained by calling the Radisson Hotel at (310) 649-1776. Bryan Hawkins Kenpo Karate will be providing transportation to/from the Kenpo Camp location. Make your arrangements through Bryan Hawkins Kenpo Karate.
