Dear Kenpoists:
Once
again, the most anticipated, productive, and enjoyable event on our Kenpo
Calendar is upon us. On Friday, September 23rd, Saturday, September
24th, and Sunday, September 25th, we will host the 12th
Annual U.K.S. All-Ranks West Coast Training Camp. The Camp will feature classes
taught by some of the most acclaimed Kenpoists in the world today, including
Howard Silva, Gurujodha S. Khalsa, Paul Dye, Albert Cornejo, James Diggs, Wes
Idol, Patrick Pace Jr., Scott Higgins, Steve Gregan, and Pat Salantri. This
year we are also pleased to welcome two esteemed martial artists who will be
instructing at our camp for the first time, Sifu Larry Hartsell and Professor
Robert Temple.
As is
our custom, this year’s Camp will be exclusive to Kenpoists only. Attendance at
our Training Camp is a privilege extended to, and designed for, those Kenpoists
who support the continued teachings of Ed Parker and the perpetuation of his
legacy. Also, in this way, we keep our unique teachings, methods, and
philosophy “within the family!”
We at
Bryan Hawkins Kenpo Karate are pleased to be hosting the 12th Annual West Coast
Training Camp. It is a great honor to sponsor an event such as this which
produces and promotes all that is positive about our Art of Kenpo. This year’s
camp will offer classes to adults of all ages and all ranks and will include
special classes designed for our Kenpo kids (minimum age 7 yrs old). The type
of interaction and proactivity that is inherent in our training camps is
unparalleled. We as Kenpoists seek to bring unity and understanding between our
mental, physical, emotional and spiritual selves. The journey to attain this
unity is enlightening -- the attainment
of this unity is enlightenment! All of
us in one way or another, whether we know it or not, are on the path towards
enlightenment. This journey takes a great deal of strength,
unity gives us greater strength -- We
Kenpoists stand united to help each other on our personal journeys towards
achieving our goals.
Come
and join in with the rest of your Kenpo Family for an exciting and memorable
weekend of training! Remember the
Art
of Kenpo and let us carry on the tradition that began with Ed Parker.
Yours
in Kenpo,
Bryan Hawkins
